Tungsten-Products are getting more and more popular than extrem compact weights and in the meantime it is impossible to not using it in the modern fishing world. The reason for the triumphant advance of tungsten (Wolfram carbid) is the extraordinary high specific weight of this material (tungsten is almost twice as heavy as lead, though considerably harder), and on the other hand accordingly to the poisonous heavy metal lead it has a better environmental impact (tungsten is nonpoisonous!). Not least - for somebody the most important reason - fishermen do catch more fishes using this special material. The bait is just faster at the fish, also in difficult drifts. Tungsten also offers advantages at the yet barely common usage in the ground fishing: Analysis have shown that for example at the pitching of a tungsten weight on the water basement (depending on the character of the basement) vibrations occur because of the high hardness of hte material, which could be very attractiv for fishes and on the other side they are twice as loud as the vibrations which occur using lead.
